This year's scholarship held at the historic Pembrey Race Circuit in Wales saw a healthy influx of talented young drivers all vying for the top spot. Managed purely on a points system accrued over various expectations throughout the day, graded by independent coaches and instructors on driving skills, race awareness, media knowledge and presentation, this year saw rising star and karting sensation Ralphie Branscombe fly to the top of the leaderboard and snatch the victory. Another very positive result for our drivers, with others close behind Ralphie awarded those all-important points, our champion Ralphie took the trophy and was back in the seat the very next day for his first testing session.
"This is a dream come true, I can't believe it! Thank you to everyone who has believed in me to get this far, I really appreciate all the support," Ralphie said.
2026 champion Ralphie, 2025 winner Martin who has joined JSCC for his second year, and many of our other scholarship winners have progressed into race coaching, prestigious international racing championships and furthered their careers with this single scholarship day. “Winning the scholarship has transformed my life by fast tracking my transition from a national/international kart racer to racing cars.
I greatly appreciate the support I receive from Dave, Vickie and the OREX team on a multitude of levels as it helps progress my racing career.
I work hard to prepare myself both physically and psychologically to compete, but also required is solid backing and finances. Without this my dream can not become a reality.”
Martin winning the scholarship has indeed been a 'game changer' for us all. Financially and logistically combined with advice and encouragement has kept Martin's journey through motorsport positive and exciting.
The JSCC is a great platform for the development of a young driver offering a fair, supportive and friendly atmosphere. As a 'team' we never stop learning and this element is paramount to Martin's development as a young person.
We appreciate all the support and look forward to the progression of Martin as a 'race driver' and 'complete person' who conducts himself with integrity to unlock his full potential.
